In a fiery video circulating online, Dr. Charles Apoki, a respected cleric and social commentator, has publicly expressed his disappointment in Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo for officiating the wedding of controversial preacher Dr. Chris Okafor.

“I am ashamed of you,” Apoki declared, addressing Ashimolowo directly.

“Any society that has no rules will collapse.”

Allegations Against Chris Okafor

Dr. Apoki didn’t mince words. He accused Okafor of:

– Performing false miracles, referencing viral social media clips.
– Abandoning his wife and children, while allegedly living immorally with actress Doris Ogala.
– Lacking integrity, stating that “a man who has no character, no reputation, no integrity should not be promoted by the leadership of the church.”

He further warned that associating with such figures sends a dangerous message to the body of Christ.

Biblical & Cultural Backing

Apoki cited biblical examples like Achan, Ananias, and Sapphira — individuals punished for moral failure. He also referenced African traditional values:

“You don’t greet him. You don’t collect fire from his kitchen. You don’t trade with him. Because when you do that, you seem to approve of his conduct.”

A Call for Accountability

The video reveals that he has faced backlash for his stance — including being banned from preaching in certain churches. But he remains defiant: “Who cares? I don’t give a hoot about preaching in your churches. I’m a businessman and a clergyman. I don’t depend on your offerings.” Dr Charles declares.

He emphasized that Pentecostalism’s overemphasis on grace is leading to disgrace, and urged elders to speak out before “children eat vultures thinking they’re eating chicken.”

Final Word

While Apoki clarified he’s not against remarriage itself — citing Esther’s marriage to a divorced king — he insisted that the context and character surrounding Okafor’s situation make this endorsement troubling.
