Oyovwi Appreciates Oborevwori Over Rapid Positive Transformation Of COE Warri

The Provost of College of Education (COE) Warri, Dr Dickson Oyovwi ( JP) has appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over the positive transformation of the college.
This was contained in his keynote address during the 47th matriculation ceremony of National Certificate of Education (NCE) for regular students and 35th matriculation ceremony for weekend NCE students of the college on Wednesday, 4th February, 2026.
Others he extended his message of appreciation to in respect of the rapid growth of College of Education, Warri and sponsorship of students, are: Chief Barry Ogbe, the Chairman of Tantita Security Service, Chief Keston Pondi, Urhobo Progress Union ( UPU ) America, the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Atuwatse 111 , HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom and HRM Kingsley Emakpor Orereh Igbi 11, the Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom.
He was also full of praises for the college community as he stated that ” the unalloyed support of the Governing Council, management, staff, students and critical stakeholders, we have collectively pursued a vision of transformation, expansion and academic excellence.”
Oyovwi further thanked parents and guardians of the matriculating students for entrusting the education and character formation of their children to the college.
To the matriculating students, he admonished that their years of education at the college, should be marked by intellectual curiosity, moral uprightness, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Oyovwi who had earlier proudly and gladly disclosed that the number of fresh students is three hundred and and eighty-four, announced the domestication and full adoption of the dual mandate programme by the Delta State Government that will be operational in the next academic session.
The Provost of COE, Warri explained that: “under the dual mandate programme initiative, students admitted into the NCE programme, will undergo two years of intensive NCE training and thereafter seamlessly migrate into degree programme.
He added: “At the completion of the academic circle, beneficiaries of this programme will graduate with both the NCE certificate and bachelor education degree.”
He appealed to public spirited individuals and organisations to contribute their quota to the growth of the college.
High point of the historic event was the administration of the matriculating oath to the fresh students by the Registrar of the college, Joe Afure.
