Ashibogwu Inspects Completed School Projects In Okpe, Commends Oborevwori’s Education Drive

Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, has carried out an extensive inspection of completed school projects in Okpe Local Government Area of the state, commending Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for prioritizing the development of education across Delta State.

Dr. Ashibogwu made the commendation while addressing journalists during the inspection tour on Thursday, March 12, 2026, noting that the present administration remains committed to providing quality infrastructure that will enhance teaching and learning in public secondary schools.

The Commissioner explained that the visit formed part of the Ministry’s routine monitoring exercise aimed at ensuring that government-funded projects are executed according to approved standards and specifications.

During the inspection, several completed facilities were assessed in schools across the local government area, including Eradajaye Secondary School, Okuovo Secondary School, and Ughoton Secondary School.

The projects inspected included classroom blocks, mini halls, administrative buildings, science laboratories, staff quarters, and security posts provided by the state government to improve the learning environment for both students and teachers.
Dr. Ashibogwu commended contractors who executed their projects in line with specifications but warned those whose works did not meet the required standards to immediately return to site and correct the observed deficiencies.

He emphasized that contractors handling government projects must demonstrate professionalism and adhere strictly to contractual agreements in order to ensure durability and value for public funds.

“These contractors are part and parcel of these schools and are expected to execute projects strictly in line with the agreed standards and specifications, not otherwise,” the Commissioner stated…
