HRM Ararile Commissions Solar-Powered Borehole Donated By Umusu Family To Agbarha Abraka Community

The Ovie of Umiaghwa-Abraka kingdom in Ethiope East Local Government of Delta State, His Royal Majesty (Air Vice Marshall) Lucky Ochuko Ararile (rtd) Avwaeke I, on Saturday commissioned a solar-powered borehole donated by the Umusu family to Agbarha Abraka community.

The traditional ruler who was represented by the Spokesman (Unuevworo) of the kingdom, Chief Nath Ahon, congratulated the kingdom and assured them that more will be done for them in the coming days.

Speaking to Oasis Magazine, Chief Ahon, described the donation as a humanitarian work of an illustrious son of the kingdom.

He said: “Our traditional ruler has always appealed to sons of the land to develop their community and the donors hearkened to this call and did this on behalf of their late mother for the use of Agbarha community.”

The respected chief urged the community to continue to be loyal to the king and cooperate with other communities to move the kingdom forward.

On his part, Chairman of Agbarha Community Development Committee, Pastor Festus Eghwrudje, said “the project was a milestone.”

His words: “We are glad as a community and we have been looking forward to the period when projects will come into this community and it has always been that we wait. We are happy that our king remembered us now; as soon as these people came, he said go to Agbarha. Our king loves us so much and we believe this is the beginning of greater things to come. We want to thank our king and the family of the donor and we look forward to seeing more of their projects here.”

He prayed for God’s blessings on the donors to do more.

Furthermore, he said the community will continue to be loyal to the king.

An elder in the community, Irikefe Iwhiwhu, who was full of joy during the event, said it was “a dream come through” for him.

According to him, if the government cannot provide the community with basic amenities and an individual does so, it is expected of them to be very excited.

He added: “My people are suffering and since I have been born I have never seen any government or individual commission any project in this community and so we are excited.”

He said further: “I can’t be drinking good water in my house and my relatives are drinking bad water. I am very excited that we got this in the community during our lifetime.”

Oasis Magazine also spoke to three children of late Mrs. Alice Idolo, Godspower Ogboru, Marvis Umusu and Yowve Umusu.

While Ogboru said the project was done in memory of their late mother who passed on 15 years ago, Marvis said they hope to do more because they are determined to develop the kingdom through their little contributions.

“Her remembrance was done recently and we agreed to do this,” Ogboru hinted, just as he called for more unity in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Yovwe said their late mother had a heart of gold, stating that he is proud to be from the Umiaghwa-Abraka.

Some members of the traditional council graced the event. Also present, was a veteran Nigerian actor, filmmaker and television producer, Chief Anthony Akposheri.
