ADC Crisis Deepens As Mark-Led Faction Expels Bala, Abejide, Others

The leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) escalated on Tuesday as a faction led by former Senate President David Mark announced the expulsion of key party figures, including Nafiu Bala and Hon. Leke Abejide.

The expulsions were reportedly carried out during the party’s national convention held in Abuja on April 14, 2026, with those affected accused of engaging in anti-party activities.

Nafiu Bala, who has been at the centre of the party’s leadership tussle, and Abejide, a serving member of the House of Representatives, are among those affected by the decision, alongside other unnamed members.

The development marks a significant turning point in the internal wrangling within the ADC, which has been grappling with factional disputes over leadership and control of the party structure in recent weeks.
