Ochonogor, Okorodudu Inspect Ongoing Construction Of Administrative Block At COE Warri

— Say Project Shall Be Ready Before End Of 2026.

The Managing Director/CEO, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor, in company of the Executive Director Projects, EDP, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu , Thursday September 3, 2026 inspected the ongoing construction of the administrative block being executed by DESOPADEC at the College of Education, Warri.

Chief Ochonogor while briefing the media after the inspection, gave assurance of the completion of the edifice before the end of this year, 2026, stating that the project is in three (3) segments, namely the physical structure which has been completed; the tiling, screeding, painting, doors and windows and the furniture and external work.

Speaking further, he said in order to accelerate the completion process, the Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the introduction of two (2) additional contractors to handle the installation of the furniture and external work, noting that the completion time line shall not exceed December, 2026.

“This is a fantastic job we are doing here. As you can see, the level of work done is according to specifications. This project shall go a long way in solving the inadequate office accommodation and infrastructure in this institution and the Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is interested in making adequate financial assistance to the contractor to see a swift completion of this project,” he said.

Observing that the contractor has made a remarkable milestone achievement towards the completion, he affirmed that they will be encouraged to swiftly complete the work within the time line.

Additionally, the Executive Director Projects EDP, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu while commending the leadership of the Managing Director/ CEO, Chief Festus Ochonogor in ensuring that the project is brought as a priority project before His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, for prompt intervention, he noted that the intervention is in line with the MORE Agenda of the State Government.

“I’m elated seeing the level of work done so far. I commend our Managing Director for making sure this project received the seriousness it deserved and I thank His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his interest in this job and seeing to its completion soonest,” he said.

The Provost of the College of Education, Warri, Dr. Mrs. Fidelia Igrakpata while commending His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Board of DESOPADEC for their tenacity and magnanimity towards the effort in completing the project, said the project would ease the stress of office accommodation in the institution.

Speaking further, she commended the contractor for the quality of work done.

According to the Head of Department of Housing, QS Williams Oyimi, the office accommodation was designed to house different office sections of the institution and it consists of more than fifteen offices to accommodate the Provost, Registrar, Deputy Provost, Principal Officers, amongst others.

Those in attendance were Engr. Tony Okuwe, EA to the EDP; Chief Goddy Omosor, SA, to the MD/CEO; Chief Security Officer, CSO, Prince Garvin Ugbome amongst others.
