The Ohworode of Ancient Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Albert Akpomudje, SAN, FCIArb, Eyanvwien-Alaka I, Chairman, Body of Benchers, on Saturday, 19th September, 2026, installed the Executive Director of Projects, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, as the Otota of the Ancient Olomu Kingdom.
The historic ceremony, described as the first of its kind in the Kingdom, was held at the Palace of the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom and witnessed by a large gathering of dignitaries, traditional chiefs and well-wishers.
Addressing guests at the ceremony, the Ohworode of Ancient Olomu Kingdom appreciated all who took time to attend the event.
The monarch disclosed that the positions of the Akpile and Otota of the Kingdom had been vacant for the past three years, explaining that for a person to become the Otota, such an individual must first hold the title of Akpile, a position which the Kingdom honourably bestowed on Dr. Okorodudu last week to pave the way for his installation as Otota.
Describing Dr. Okorodudu as a revered son of the Kingdom who has distinguished himself in many areas of life, the monarch said the Kingdom was happy with his choice as Otota, noting that the decision came after extensive deliberations and wide consultations with relevant stakeholders.
The Ohworode further charged the new Otota to use his exalted position to attract more opportunities to the Kingdom and to serve with dedication and humility.

“Olorogun Okorodudu is a revered son of Olomu Kingdom who has distinguished himself in public service, in his profession and in his commitment to the growth of our Kingdom. We are happy with his choice as Otota of Ancient Olomu Kingdom because this decision is a product of deep deliberations and broad consultations.
“I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the service of the Kingdom. I urge him to use this position to bring more opportunities, development and honour to Olomu Kingdom and to remain steadfast in service to the throne and to our people,” the monarch said.
In an emotion-laden address, Dr. Okorodudu said with tear-filled eyes that he was enjoying a special privilege, acknowledging that his installation was the most colourful in the history of the Kingdom, saying that he was particularly privileged to serve under a highly distinguished monarch whom he described as the number one lawyer in Nigeria by virtue of his position as Chairman of the Body of Benchers, where the Chief Justice of the Federation serves as Vice-Chairman.
“With tears of joy and going down memory lane, I strongly believe I am enjoying a special privilege. This installation is the most colourful installation in the history of this Kingdom. I am also privileged to have as my boss, a highly distinguished personality in all ramifications – the Chairman of the Body of Benchers, who is today the number one lawyer in Nigeria.
“Frankly speaking, I doubt if there is any traditional ruler with this kind of qualification. Olomu Kingdom is indeed a blessed Kingdom to have His Royal Majesty, Albert Akpomudje, SAN, as King. I am a lucky man to serve behind him as the Otota of the Ancient Olomu Kingdom.
“The implication is that I am under him to understudy him, to learn from him with total obedience. I want to state here clearly that I am 100% loyal to the Ohworode and the entire Olomu Kingdom. Wherever he sends me, I will go. Whatever directive he gives to me, I will follow. I am making it clear before the whole world that I shall be perfectly obedient to him and to the Olomu people. I will pride myself as the most obedient Otota ever recorded in the history of Olomu Kingdom,” he said.
Dr. Okorodudu further expressed his profound gratitude to the Ohworode for graciously approving that he spend just seven days on the seat as Akpile before being rapidly promoted to Otota of the Ancient Olomu Kingdom.
Highpoint of the event was the administration of the oath of office where Dr. Okorodudu pledged his unalloyed loyalty to the Ancient Olomu Kingdom and vowed to bring development, peace and unity to the Kingdom.
The ceremony also featured the citation of Dr. Okorodudu’s academic qualifications, political journey, appointments in the State Government, management training courses attended, professional bodies he belongs to, as well as his philanthropic activities and colourful cultural displays.
Guests were treated to a beautiful reception which followed immediately after the installation at the country home of Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, along Abare Street, Okpare-Olomu.
