Olorogun John Nani Urges Peace, Unity as Christians Celebrate Easter

A former member of the Delta State House of Assembly and ex-Commissioner for Environment, Olorogun John Obukowho Nani, has urged residents of Delta State to embrace peace, unity, and collective responsibility as Christians celebrate Easter.

In his Easter message, the Ethiope West-born APC chieftain emphasised that the season represents sacrifice, renewal, and hope, calling on citizens to reflect those values in their daily lives and community engagements.

He noted that Delta State’s progress depends on sustained harmony across political, ethnic, and religious lines, stressing the need for leaders and followers alike to prioritise development over division.

Nani also highlighted environmental consciousness as a critical part of responsible citizenship, encouraging communities to maintain cleaner surroundings as part of a broader commitment to public health and sustainable living.

According to him, “Easter reminds us that sacrifice is never wasted. It is a call to rebuild trust, strengthen unity, and commit ourselves to the greater good of our communities and state.”

He further urged political stakeholders to use the period to deepen reconciliation efforts and foster inclusive governance ahead of future electoral cycles.
