In a statement shared on Facebook, Akpowowo thanked God Almighty for granting journey mercies, favourable weather, peace, and safety to all who travelled from within Nigeria and abroad to attend the funeral ceremony.
The Deputy Speaker specifically appreciated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, for their support, particularly for allowing their wives to lead the state delegation to the South-East for the burial.
He also acknowledged the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and his wife, members of the 8th Assembly and their spouses, members of the Akpowowo and Ogoh families, leaders of the Eku community, and numerous political associates who stood by him and his family during the period of mourning.
Akpowowo further extended appreciation to Rev. Fr. Moses, the Eleonu and Lekwauwa families, the Alaenyi Ogwa community in Imo State, and all individuals who provided moral and financial support during the bereavement period.

Reflecting on the milestone, Akpowowo recalled that 29 lawmakers were inaugurated on June 13, 2023, and expressed gratitude that all members remain part of the Assembly three years later.
