Coronation Anniversary: FUPRE VC, Agbalagba, Hails Orodje Of Okpe, Hails 20 Years Of Vision, Peace, Statesmanship, Enduring Impact

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Professor Ezekiel O. Agbalagba, FNIP, has felicitated His Royal Majesty, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd.), CFR, MNI, Orhue I, The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, on the occasion of his 20th Coronation Anniversary, describing the milestone as a significant chapter in the history of the kingdom.

In a goodwill message on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students of FUPRE, Professor Agbalagba celebrated two decades of the monarch’s reign as “20 years of vision, peace and purpose; 20 years of wisdom, statesmanship and enduring impact.”

The Vice-Chancellor noted that two decades of His Majesty’s reign represent a period distinguished by peace, unity, wisdom, statesmanship and purposeful service, with a strong appreciation for the heritage and identity of Okpe Kingdom.

According to Professor Agbalagba, the Orodje’s stewardship has combined a deep respect for tradition with a constructive outlook towards development and progress, while his leadership has been marked by “dignity, vision and constructive engagement.”

He said these qualities had contributed to strengthening relationships across institutions and communities and creating an atmosphere conducive to shared progress and the aspirations of the people.

Professor Agbalagba also acknowledged the monarch’s relationship with FUPRE, expressing the University’s appreciation for “Your Majesty’s consistent goodwill, support and advocacy for the University’s growth, recognition and pursuit of excellence.”

He noted that the Orodje’s encouragement of education and institutional development resonates with FUPRE’s commitment to knowledge, innovation, human-capital development and excellence, which he described as important drivers of institutional and societal progress.

The Vice-Chancellor further noted that the University’s relationship with traditional institutions such as the Okpe Kingdom reflects the importance of constructive partnerships in advancing education, human capacity and community development.

As the Orodje marks the 20th anniversary of his coronation, Professor Agbalagba said FUPRE joins the people of Okpe Kingdom in celebrating “the values upheld, the relationships strengthened and the positive influence of Your Majesty’s reign.”

He prayed that Almighty God would continue to grant His Majesty “wisdom, strength, sound health and many more years of peaceful, purposeful and impactful service” to Okpe Kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the entire FUPRE community, extended warm felicitations to Orhue I and wished the monarch continued wisdom, good health and fulfilment as he leads Okpe Kingdom into another chapter of its history.
