Ochonogor Hosts EIMC 19 Participants Of NISS, Seeks Stronger Inter-Agency Collaboration

The Managing Director/CEO of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, received members of the Executive Intelligence Management Course, EIMC 19, of the National Institute for Security Studies, NISS, Ussadam, Bwari, Abuja, on a courtesy visit at the Commission’s Head Office in Warri.

Receiving the visitors on behalf of the MD, Chief Ochonogor, the Director of Administration and Supplies, DAS, DESOPADEC, Princess Precious Akparobi, commended the participants for their continued collaboration with the Commission. She stated that the Commission, as an award-winning intervention agency, has played host to numerous participants who have visited over time.

She said the Commission, a statutory agency mandated to develop oil-producing and impacted communities in the mandate areas and beyond, has contributed immensely to the upliftment of the lives of the people in those areas.

She urged the participants to effectively put the knowledge gained from the interaction into use for the benefit of the Commission, the Institute, and Nigeria at large.

“Many of your members have interacted with the Commission in the past, and we are happy about that. We believe that the knowledge gained will enhance the commitment of the Institute and contribute to the overall development of the country,” she said.

The members, who were on a study tour of the Commission and other government agencies in Delta State, thanked the MD/CEO, DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor, for the warm reception. They acknowledged that the interaction was fruitful and informative.

One of the participants, Mr. Victor Akpolo, said he was elated at the prompt attention accorded the team, despite the short notice given to the Commission ahead of their visit.

He noted that the team’s visit to the Commission was part of their study tour of some agencies in Delta State.

“We are happy that the knowledge we have gained has deepened our understanding of what the Commission has been able to achieve and is ready to do more for oil-producing communities in the State,” he said.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of copies of the DESOPADEC Compendium and Monthly Magazine to the visiting team by the Director of Administration and Supplies, DAS, Princess Precious Akparobi.

Other members in attendance included Aduke Ogbe, Andre Olatunbosun, and Modestus Maduabuchi.
