The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of candidates for the 2027 Delta State House of Assembly elections, with Oke Umurhohwo confirmed on the list as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ughelli North Constituency II.

Umurhohwo’s name appears on page 179 of the INEC publication, at serial number 227, under the PDP platform.

The development marks another significant stage in the political journey of the marketing professional and community development advocate, who is seeking to represent the people of Ughelli, Agbarho and Uwheru in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Reacting to the publication, Umurhohwo expressed gratitude to God, the leadership and members of the PDP, political stakeholders, friends and supporters who have continued to encourage him throughout the process.

Umurhohwo, who currently serves as Marketing Director at StarTimes Nigeria and is also the founder of Ughelli Rovers Football Club, has continued to emphasise the need for more accessible, accountable and responsive legislative representation.

His campaign agenda focuses on improving engagement between elected representatives and their constituents, promoting youth and human capital development, supporting economic opportunities and strengthening legislative advocacy for community development.

Among the commitments outlined by his campaign are the establishment of a functional constituency office, regular town hall meetings and periodic reports to constituents on legislative activities and interventions.

He has also maintained that elected legislators must be assessed on their constitutional responsibilities, including lawmaking, representation, appropriation and oversight, rather than promises that fall outside the powers of the legislature.

As political activities gradually build towards the 2027 elections, Umurhohwo said his focus remains on engaging communities across the constituency and presenting a practical agenda for representation.

“Our commitment remains the same: representation that people can reach, leadership they can trust, and a legislative office that remains accountable to the people it serves,” he stated.

Umurhohwo is contesting the Ughelli North Constituency II seat on the platform of the PDP in the February 6, 2027 State House of Assembly election.

His campaign is anchored on the message: “Representation You Can Reach. Leadership You Can Trust.”
