Delta North: SDP Senatorial Candidate, Onyebuchi, Calls On Youths To Take Over Political Leadership
Hon. Victor Onyebuchi, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) senatorial candidate for Delta North Senatorial District, has called on youths to rise to the occasion and take over political leadership rather than allow themselves to be used as tools for campaigns and political mobilisation.
Onyebuchi stressed the need for young people to move beyond serving as campaign mobilisers and supporters to actively participating in leadership and decision-making processes that shape the future of the country.
He maintained that youths must recognise their potential to influence governance and take up leadership responsibilities to drive meaningful change in society.
The SDP candidate also called for an end to poverty, insecurity and joblessness, stressing the need for political leaders to prioritise policies and programmes capable of addressing the challenges confronting Nigerians.
He said the country needed purposeful leadership and practical solutions that would create employment opportunities, improve security and enhance the living conditions of citizens.

Onyebuchi further advocated issue-based politics and peaceful elections, urging political candidates to focus on presenting their manifestos, policies and development plans rather than engaging in character assassination and personal attacks against opponents.
He urged politicians to conduct their campaigns with decorum, respect differing opinions and avoid inflammatory rhetoric capable of creating tension and undermining the democratic process.
According to him, elections should be a contest of ideas, competence and credible plans for development, rather than a platform for personal vendettas and unnecessary political hostilities.
He called on political stakeholders, supporters and the electorate to embrace peace, tolerance and responsible political engagement to ensure credible and peaceful elections.
Onyebuchi reiterated the need for a political culture that places the welfare of the people above personal interests, expressing the importance of youth inclusion, effective leadership and issue-driven campaigns in building a better society.
