Chukwudi Dafe Promises Prompt Payment of Salaries In Ukwuani LGA
The newly elected and sworn-in Executive Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government Council, Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe has resumed office, with a promise to pay workers salaries as at when due and ensure the security of life and property in the area.
Ogbuefi Dafe, who was warmly welcomed to the council by the management and staff, lauded the Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Dr F. O Atube and the NULGE for their reception.
He said he will pay salaries because he hates to owe salaries.
His words: “I hate to owe salaries; I don’t owe salaries. We will not pay impress or security vote until workers salaries are paid.”
The new chairman assured the people of Ukwuani that he will complete and commission all uncompleted projects in the local government as soon as possible.
“Money or no money we will work,” he added.
Also, he stated that the security of lives and property are important to him and that he will ensure that the environment of the local government is serene.
Earlier, in his handover speech, the Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Dr F. O Atube congratulated Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe on his landslide victory at the polls and prayed God to grant him more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the council and make it better.
He also stated that the council is not indebted to any bank, even as he pledged the co-operation of the entire staff.
