Former Ethiope East Councillor, Onose Onakpoma, Kidnapped

The kidnap of a former Councillor in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Honourable Onose Onakpoma, has been reported to Oasis Magazine (OM).
This incidence, we gathered, occurred on Saturday, 31st March, 2018, along Eku-Abraka axis of the Sapele-Agbor Express Road, at 5a.m. while the victim was returning from a function in Okpara.
Onakpoma was said to be in company of two of his friends, one of whom was identified as Fanny Akpobasah, who attended the said function with him.
While one version of the report said that they were trailed, another said the trio ran into an armed robbery gang between Okrore and Salubi area of the said road.
Sources disclosed that the kidnappers contacted the family and at first demanded for N10M, reduced it to N5M and then agreed to collect N1M before they release him.
At the time of filing this report, a reliable source said that the ransom has been paid, but added that the kidnapped councillor is yet to be released from the kidnapper’s den.
