-…Urges Supporters To Be Calm, Promises To Retrieve Mandate In Court

By Daniel Dafe

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for Ethiope Federal constituency in the House of Representatives 2019 election, Olorogun Solomon Edojah, has described the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC sitting at Isiokolo Ethiope East local Government Area that declared Ben Rollands Igbakpa as the winner as a daylight robbery, as he assured his supporters that he would retrieve the stolen mandate through the court.

Edojah, who spoke to Oasis Magazine (OM) during a phone conversation, said: “We are not a part of that sham they call results. Elections should be a reflection of the wish of the people. We won all the wards in Ethiope East. We won four wards in Ethiope West. We won all the wards in Mosogar and also won the whole of Jesse axis. How can they just go and bring two ward results where nobody voted and came with 13, 000 votes and used it to deny the wish of the people. We will not accept and reject the results in its entirety. It is not about me but the wish of the people. Go through Ethiope East and you would see how sad people are on the streets.

According to results announced, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Hon Ben Igbakpa polled a total of 34,745 votes, while the All Progressives Congress got 26,374 votes.

Hon Ben Igbakpa is a former Delta State House of Assembly member, representing Ethiope West constituency and the immediate past Commissioner for Transport in the state.
