-Says Nigerians Must Brace Up For This Reality

The Director General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, has warned that Nigerians must prepare for the coming changes that would occur because of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, saying that life will never be the same after the disease is contained.
Ihekweazu, who was guest during a live programme, Sunrise Daily, aired by Channels TV earlier today, April 16, 2020, added that Nigerians should be prepared to adapt to a lot of the changes that have been introduced into the society during the fight against the disease.
According to him, measures like social distancing, hand washing, face masks that have been introduced now will remain after the pandemic has been dealt with.
Speaking further, he said that business people, food sellers and everyone else must start thinking how to operate differently.
He said that no country can totally terminate the pandemic, noting that even in China it has resurfaced in some places.
On the discrepancy in the figures of confirmed cases, he called on Nigerians not to bother about this, saying that focusing on how to deal with the pandemic is a greater task now and all Nigerians must support and cooperate to enable the economy start up totally again after the lockdown period is over.
