Comrade Umukoro in a congratulatory message added that Governor Okowa is a proactive governor who is determined to positively impact every sector and group in the state.

His words: “Governor Okowa is a man of peace and this has reflected in all activities of his administration.  He has brought peace, unity and harmony to our very diverse and complex state,” noting that despite the nation’s economic challenges from the inception of his administration, he has continued to drive his ‘Stronger Delta’ idea.

He continued: “We have followed closely his empowerment schemes and the provision of social infrastructure in the state. He is a grassroot politician that has the well-being of the people at heart always. We have also seen the proactive measures he has so far taken to tackle the security challenges in the state.

“In the area of security I can score the governor an A1. The establishment of ‘Delta Hawk’ is a step in the right direction that will at least prevent the killing of Deltans.”

Continuing, he commended the Delta State Governor for fulfilling his promise to Agadama Community by providing compensation to the families that lost their loved ones during the Fulani herdsmen killing and also donating the sum of Ten Million Naira ‘Education Fund’ to the community just like he pledged.

“I also must commend the governor for appointing into his government an hardworking Urhobo youth leader, Comrade Bayo Eyube, who was an ex-Vice President of UPU Youthwing,” he added.

Speaking further, he urged the Governor to despite the harsh economic situation in the world, come up with a legacy project in the state before he exits the stage. This, he said will be a project that he will always be remembered for.

Furthermore, while praying that the Governor continues and finishes strong, he called on Deltans especially Urhobo Nation to support Dr. Okowa in his task of developing the state for the present generation and posterity.

Meanwhile, Senator Okowa in a tweet today said 5-years ago, when he assumed office, “the national economy was in a state of distress; unemployment was high; our infrastructure deficit was intimidating, and we all wanted more for Delta State, because we all believed that we could be more — and do more.”

He added that with the support, prayers and hard-work of Deltans, his administration is on-track to deliver on the promise “to raise the bar of good governance and set a standard that is supported by notable achievements.”
