Akpabio Orders Immediate Closure Of NDDC Headquarters Over Coronavirus Outbreak

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Godswill Akpabio has directed the immediate temporary closure of the corporate headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Port Harcourt as a result of suspected outbreak of COVID-19, Coronavirus disease.
According to a statement by the Director of Press at the ministry, Deworitshe Patricia, Akpabio also advised all staff currently exhibiting symptoms not to panic but to report to the nearest NCDC center in Port Harcourt for evaluation and possible treatment.
Further actions shall be communicated as would be directed by the Headquarters of the NCDC, the minister added.
This directive comes after a top management staff of the commission died early today. Conflicting reports said the said staff died of COVID-19, another said he was poisoned.
