In Times Like This!

It is only a prominently-selfless and compassionate leader in the caliber of the Deputy President of the Senate (DPS), HE, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the quintessential Obaisi of Urhobo Nation, that you can count on, to have in his thoughts and prayers, the least of our brothers and sisters in our society, in these perilous times.

Compared to the government of the day in Delta State (the State and Local Councils), HE, Deputy President of the Senate has, as usual, distinguished himself as a loving shoulder for the least of our brothers and sisters in our society, to lean on, in times like this.

This is not in anyway, trying to sing the praises of the Deputy President of the Senate, rather, it is stating it as it is.

HE, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege evidently stands out as a man who grew up, imbibing the biblical injunction from our Lord Jesus Christ, which admonishes us to, ‘do good, and show love, onto the least of the brethrens, for His sake’ – I refer to Matthew 25:40-45.

In all of its publicized ‘razzmatazz’ on the distribution of palliatives to the vulnerable people in the state, how be it that, the Delta State Government, would not factor the residents of the Tuberculosis and  Leprosy Referral Center (Hope Village) – affiliated to the Eku Baptist Government Hospital, Eku, Delta State?

No doubt that these very important brothers and sisters of ours who, as a result of their peculiar medical conditions were confined to the Hope Village, deserves better from the Delta State Government; they do not deserve to be abandoned and neglected by their very own immediate government (State and LGA Council), especially not at a time like this, when they need government palliatives to enable them cope with the difficult period occasioned by the Covid-19 lockdown.

Alas, hope was not lost for these very important brothers and sisters of ours, as they had always been in the thoughts and prayers of HE, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, The Quintessential Obaisi of Urhobo Nation, who on the Saturday, 2nd of May, 2020, showed love to the residents of Hope Village, with the presentation of loads of food stuff and physical cash sums to them as part of his special palliative package.

I sincerely hope that this selfless gesture by The Quintessential Obaisi of Urhobo Nation, will remind and inspire the Delta State Government, and those whose duty it is, to show love and factor our brothers and sisters – (resident in Hope Village), into the government’s plans for the vulnerable, who as it is, represents the least of the brethrens in the society.

In light of the uncommon show of love by The Quintessential Obaisi of Urhobo Nation, I want to join the appreciative residents of Hope Village, and the progressives to say a Big Thank you to The Deputy President of the Senate, who has demonstrated that he is one to be relied upon, in times like this.

Just my thoughts.
