Sapele: Frank Nujimen Declares Intention To Run For Councilor

A Sapele based businessman and philanthropist, Mr Frank Nujimen, yesterday, Wednesday 6th May, 2020, declared his intention to run for the councillor of Ward 7 in Sapele, Sapele Local Governments area of Delta State.

Nujimen made his intention known to leaders of the ward when he hosted them at the country home of the commissioner representing Ethiope West, Okpe, and Sapele local government area in the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas and Development Commission, Desopadec, Hon. Joyce Overah.

The business mogul, and award winner of most outstanding PDP youth personality for female empowerment 2019, who reiterated that he had joined the party because it is the only party in Nigeria that gives everyone equal opportunity to practice true democracy, told Journalists that he was in the race because of his passion to help the downtroden and help to bring democracy and development to the grassroot.”

He said: “Most of you will be wondering why I have decided to contest for the councilorship in my Ward, but if you know my passion for helping the vulnerable, you will understand why I have decided to run for this position. I am promising you that I will work tirelessly to make the impact you desire in this democratic setting that is been run by listening leaders of the party and a workaholic governor, Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.”

Nujimen who is widely known as Skypop after one of his business ventures also assured members of his ward that if he is voted for, he will certainly bring alive projects that until now have been abandoned.

“There are so many things I see and my heart bleeds; please let’s be partners in progress so that we will all enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he added.

When asked if it was not too early to ruffle the political nest with his intention, Nujimen who appears to have expressed his interest first, said since he was not a political appointee and noted that is intention is to help ward 7 and Sapele Local Government Area at large, added that there was no need lying idle with his ambition.

He praised Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his developmental strides in all parts of the state amid available resources, adding that, “if Okowa is doing what others had done in the past in Delta, there will be no Delta and if Okowa had been in power since  the inception of the state, things would have been far better.”

He also commended the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Sapele for sustaining the party and raising it up to this enviable height.

Ward leaders present at the declaration include Rt Honourable O.J Overah, Dr Austin Arieja, Joyce Jemirheri, Mr. Randy Okotie, Solomon Afinotan and a host of others.
