Group Issues 21-Day Ultimatum To NLNG To Relocate Train-7 Fabrication Project From Lagos To Bonny

The Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association of Niger Delta has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Nigerian Liquefied and Natural Gas Limited NLNG to relocate the Fabrication Project to Bonny Rivers State in line with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industries Content Development Acts of 2010 (NOGIDC) as specifically stated in Section 25, 26, 27 and 28 (s) of that law.
The group’s leadership called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, the Senate President, the Speaker House of Reps. the Chairman Senate Committee on Gas, Chairman House Committee Gas, the Group Managing Director NNPC, the Group General Manger NLNG and other relevant stakeholders to urgently use their good offices to prevail on the management of NLNG by calling it to order to ensure that the Train7 Fabrication Project is done in Bonny River State and not Lagos as proposed to avoid industrial protest and rallies for justice denied.
Comrade Mike J.K. Tiemo, the group’s President who spoke in Warri Delta State averred that the decision to carry out such a massive project in Lagos instead of Bonny River State where the facility is going to be used is an insult and an affront on the Niger Delta People that must be corrected.
Comrade Tiemo asserted that the humanitarian group is calling for the immediate sack of the company personnel that took the decision of moving the fabrication project from Bonny to Lagos because the idea is capable of igniting industrial tension and crisis in the Niger Delta.
Bishop Godwin S. Pinawei the group’s Vice President and Comrade Patrick Okpomu National Mobilizing Officer 1 who added their voices remarked that the decision of NLNG to fabricate Train-7 in Lagos is indeed a tactical deprivation of Niger Deltans from employment, empowerment, capacity building, human capital and community development.
