Nollywood Veteran Actor, Charles Okafor Celebrates 50th Birthday

Highly celebrated Nollywood veteran actor, producer, director, entrepreneur and a television personality, Charles Izuchukwu Okafor is celebrating his birthday today in grand style.

Charles Okafor who turned 50 today is chilling with his family in a fabulous location made known to 9News Nigeria in a discussion.

The veteran actor known for great accomplishments in the Nigerian and African Movie industries brandished his accolades and thanked God who he said has been and is still the source of his inspiration.

“I am thankful to the Almighty God for Life, Good Health, A lovely Family and, most importantly, the unmerited Grace of having a refreshing relationship with JESUS THE CHRIST,” Charles said in his closing remarks with 9News Nigeria.

The Nollywood super star, now a Minister of Jesus Christ also reiterated that the media has been wrong about his middle name, and date of birth.

He confirmed to 9News Nigeria that he was actually born in 1970 as against widely published 1960.

Charles OKAFOR was NOT born in 1960, as erroneously conveyed on the Internet. He was born in 1970, and also, his middle name is NOT EZECHUKWU, but, IZUCHUKWU. His full name is Charles IzuChukwu Okafor.

Idahosa movie featuring Charles Okafor had been one of the main boosters of the foremost movie industry in Africa, Nollywood that now generates about $1 billion yearly and concurrently creates over 1 million jobs in the continent annually.

He was the brain behind the Liberian movie industry known as “Cinema of Liberia” after collaborating with the Liberian president and Minister of Culture in a series of projects that empowered many creative and artistic Liberian youths.

The dynamic Nollywood veteran celebrity has starred in more than 300 movies both in Nigerian and abroad. Charles Okafor has received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards as the Best Male Actor in Nigeria and Best Lead Actor in Nigeria. He is considered as one of the best box office grossing actor. Charles Okafor is also considered as one of the most sought after actor in Nigeria and also one of the best performing actors in Nigeria.

In 2011, Charles Okafor was honoured by the Nigerian Federal Government as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) which happens to be the highest honour and an award given to a celebrity in Nigeria who has contributed immensely to the economic growth and development of the country through entertainment.
