Edo People Must Resist This Impunity– PDP Reacts To Police Take Over Of EDHA
By Matthew Ogune, Abuja
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has called on all Edo persons of goodwill to reject the brazen attack on their democracy and resist it.
Police operatives have reportedly taken over Edo House of Assembly complex in Benin City.
Dozens of the security officials stormed the complex while patrol vehicles were stationed around the area.
It was learnt the move was to forestall alleged planned attack on the facility.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Ayoola Ajala, led the operation, which is ongoing.
In a statement on Thursday, PDP spokesperson in the state, Chris Osa Nehikhare urged Edo people to march to the House of Assembly complex in Kings Square in support of democracy and against the alleged impunity by the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state house of assembly.

Nehikhare stated: “It has come to our knowledge that the APC led by Adams Oshiomhole will this morning, Thursday August 6, 2020 lead thugs to the premises of the State House of Assembly in an attempt to illegally take over the house and legislative arm of government.
“He has over the last few weeks disbursed over N500m to entice and purchase members of the house for his illegal take-over attempt in a gestapo style operation.”
“All Edo persons of goodwill should reject this brazen attack on our democracy and resist it.
“We hereby call on all Edo people to march to the House of Assembly complex in Kings Square in support of democracy and against this impunity.
“We cannot continue in this way!
“Edo must be reset,” Nehikhare stated.
