A human rights activist in Delta State, Omes Ogedegbe, Esq., has scored Governor Ifeanyi Okowa low in the area of governance compared to previous adminstration in the state.

In an open letter to the Governor made available to this medium, Ogedegbe questioned the reason for the appointment of many Special Advisers by the Okowa-led adminstration.

Continuing, the fiery lawyer wondered if the Governor was in competition with other governors to clinch the position of ‘Governor with the highest number of Advisers’.

Adding, majority of these advisers have not been to Asaba neither do they have access to the Governor.

He continued: “You would recall that when competent contractors were constructing major roads in Delta State as we witnessed under previous administrations, upon the visit of the governor to any road construction site, the seeming competent contractors were all on ground for routine inspection by the governor. Not to forget the governor had a project monitoring unit and a maintenance agency.

“That was the era the governor had advisers he listened to and who could have access to him.

“Today, because an individual backrolled the major political activities of the PDP, he is now in charge of all road constructions.

“Major towns are now separated from adjoining villages as curvets are left uncompleted for several months. Each day the people take terrible route they don’t pray for. Various manageable roads were made worst by your political big-weight-turn contractor.”

Ogedegbe quizzed: “What can your government be remembered for?”

“All road construction have been abandoned worst than a state on zero allocation. You have obviously become unaware of the task of governance and sure to be the worst governor to have occupied the office of governor in the State, if not Nigeria. Please concentrate on governance,” he added.

His Excellency
Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa
Governor
Delta State.

Sir,
Concentrate on Governance
Calvary greetings to you and your family.
I am glad you have fully recovered and back on your seat. I will want to go straight to the points.
You have an avalanche of Advisers but you seem fulfilled chasing the title of the governor with the highest advisers in Nigeria I hope same increases your state allocation.

One is tempted to ask if these Advisers are the ones advising you or the reverse is the case as majority of the them have not been to Asaba nor have access to you.

What can your government be remembered for? To add to our suffering, the contractor handling the road projects in the state was busy milking individuals demanding so high for ‘slap’ to connect streets to roads disconnected by them while constructing drainages because they know the road master is not in charge. All road construction have been abandoned worst than a state on zero allocation. You have obviously become unaware of the task of governance and Sure to be the worst governor to have occupied the office of governor in the State if not Nigeria.
Please concentrate on governance.
Omes Ogedegbe, Esq.
