BREAKING: Fire Guts INEC Headquerters In Ondo State

Fire gutted the Ondo State Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday.
This comes barely one month to the governorship election in the state.
The cause of the inferno was unknown as of the time of filing this report.
Oasis Magazine (OM) gathered that the fire destroyed some items in a section of the office.
When our correspondent visited the scene, security operatives at the scene cordoned off the INEC office premises.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner of the state, Dr Rufus Akeju, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
Calls put across to his telephone line did not go through.
At the time of filing this report, INEC Commisioner on Voter Education, Mr. Festus Okoye who spoke on NTA’s Network mews said that card readers for the purpose of the election were lost in the inferno, but assured the people of Ondo that the elections will go on as planned, adding that the Commision will get card readers from neighboring states for the forthcomimg guber election.
