The chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Godwin Adode, has ordered community leaders in the council to produce the missing the rifle allegedly stole from Corporal Etaga Stanley who was reportedly was shot dead by hoodlums who hijacked #EndSARS protest in Ughelli.

Niger Delta Today reports that Adode gave the directive on Monday after a security meeting with security chiefs including the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force.

The meeting was sequel to the recent attack by protesters on Corporal Stanley who was shot dead during the protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Ughelli North Council Area of the state.

Hundreds of protesters last Thursday clashed with police operatives at Otovwodo Junction leading to the death of the policeman while another police sergeant and a civilian sustained gunshots injury.

The service rifle of the deceased policeman was, however, carted away by the hoodlums during the attack.

No fewer than 14 #EndSARS protesters have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command over their alleged connection with the murder of the police corporal.

However, the council chairman rising from the security meeting directed President-Generals of the various kingdoms in the locality to produce the missing rifle.

Adode, who condemned the murder of the policeman, charged the community leaders in the area to liaise with other traditional leaders in the area to ensure the missing gun was recovered.

The Ughelli North council boss noted “If the missing gun is left in the hand of the killers of the policeman, it will cause more dangers to lives and property of residents of the council area. I am enjoining them to work with us to recover the missing rifle.”

While also expressing concerns on the activities of Fulani Herdsmen in the council, he charged the President-Generals to take inventory of herdsmen resident in their respective kingdoms in Ughelli North.

“Identify who is residing in your community, take proper possession of your land. Do more investigation to unravel those habouring the Herdsmen and criminals in your domain”, Adode stressed.
