Joy Eze, Woman Shot In The Mouth By Policeman Is Alive
Joy Eze, the lady shot in the mouth last Thursday by a policeman in Lagos, is not dead.
Eze was shot by Eze Aiwansoba, attached to the Special Protection Unit, Base 16, Ikeja, at Salvation Bus Stop, Opebi, Ikeja area of the state.
Videos of the incident that circulated on social media showed that the bullet tore off her cheeks.
Good Samaritans and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) rushed the victim to a nearby hospital.
The Lagos State Police Command said it was on the trail of the suspect, whom it identified as the victim’s lover.
However, rumour circulated on social media on Tuesday that the victim had died in hospital.
This came as Nigerian youths continued to protest to demand an end to police brutality.

A Twitter influencer, @I_Am_Ilemona, said there was no iota of truth in the rumour.
Writing on Twitter on Wednesday morning, he wrote, “Please ignore that silly rumour that Joy Eze, the woman who was shot in the mouth, is dead.
“@Mosopemi & I spoke to family members yesterday & have spoken to them again this morning.
“I dunno where it came from, but please ignore it. Thank you”
