DTSG Extends Official Working Hours, Directs Resumption Of All Officers Below SGL 12

Following the observed decline in the rate of COVID-19 infections in the State as well as the gradual relaxation of the lock down restrictions,
Public Servants and Officers on Grade Levels 10 and below have been asked to resume.

A statement from the Okowa administration said the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has approved the resumption of duties every working day for all categories of public servants with effect from tomorrow, Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

The said statement signed by the State Director of Information, Mr Doan Obuseh, said that the approval became necessary following the observed decline in the rate of COVID-19 infections in the state as well as the gradual relaxation of the lockdown restrictions.

According to the statement, all officers from Grade levels 01 – 17 are to be in the office by 8.00 am and close by 4.00pm daily.

The statement however, emphasized that there should be continuous adherence to all COVID-19 preventive protocols, including temperature checks, maintenance of physical distancing, regular washing and/or sanitizing of hands and compulsory wearing of face masks, in furtherance of government commitment towards the safety of life and wellbeing of public servants.

It advised that staff should be rotated on the basis of one-third of total staff strength such that occupation of available office space should not exceed 75% occupancy rate at any given time, while ensuring that each officer comes to work at least 2 to 3 days in a week, to check overcrowding.

The government advised public officers and civil servants on salary grade levels 1 – 10 to take note of the announcement and be guided accordingly.
