COVID-19: Delta Adjusts Curfew To 10PM, Reopens Markets

The Delta State Government has announced an adjustment in the curfew time from the earlier period of 7:00pm- 6:00am to 10:00pm- 5:30am.
Recall that the Okowa-led adminstration imposed a curfew in the State as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government,
Chiedu Ebie, the Delta State Government also approved the resumption of normal trading activities in all markets across the 25 Local Government Areas of the State.

However, cinemas and bars in hotels and beer parlours were directed to remain closed, while restaurants and eateries were asked to continue to serve their customers on a take away basis.
The statement also said that the “government would not hesitate to shut them down if they are observed to be in breach of the COVID-19 safety guidelines.”
The Okowa-led adminstration urged Deltans and residents in the state to continue to adhere strictly to all the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines which include wearing of facemask, maintaining physical and social distancing as well as regular washing of hands in order to curtail the spread of the virus.
