Urhuoka-Abraka Market Set To Reopen, As UDA Revives Abandoned Facility

The long-abandoned Urhuoka-Abraka Market in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, is set to commence operations soon as the leadership of the Urhuoka Development Association (UDA) has commenced rehabilitation work on the facility.

One of the leaders of the association, Akpokiniovo Solomon, disclosed this on Friday, saying the market would be opened for business within the next few months.

According to him, the association has commenced work on the abandoned market, with parts of the building already roofed and plastering of the walls ongoing.

Akpokiniovo said the rehabilitation was aimed at bringing the market back to life and providing traders with a functional and organised environment to conduct their businesses.

He expressed optimism that the ongoing work would be completed soon, paving the way for the market to commence operations and accommodate traders.

The revival of the market is expected to boost commercial activities in Urhuoka, Abraka, while providing residents and traders in the community and surrounding areas with a renewed trading centre.
