Esiso: We Will Not Go For Primaries, Says Party Will Pick Candidates For 2021 LGA Elections

The Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, on Sunday said the party leaders will pick suitable candidates amongst aspirants as against going for primaries in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

Esiso disclosed this while addressing Sapele Local Government PDP executive and party members who were at the Sapele Council Secretariat to welcome the state excos on their thank you visit.

Adding: “Soon the tenure of the present chairman and councillor will soon be a thing of the past and I am aware that some aspirants are gunning to be candidate of the party, and we have decided to guide the system. For your information, the chairmanship form is two million naira, councillor is three hundred and fifty naira, we are selling form for only one aspirant. We have one form for one local government chairman and one form for one Councilor.

“it’s your right to aspire and nobody can fault you for aspiring, everybody has a right to aspire, we cannot have two chairmen or two councillors at the same time. If you are aspiring, check yourself, do what I call political analysis of the environment. If you know you scored less than fifty person, don’t waste your money.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Delta Central PDP, Chief Fovie while addressing party supporters said that they were in Sapele on a thank you visit to party faithful after the last Congress in which they were elected.

Others who spoke include the Sapele PDP Chairman, Hon Perkins Umukoro, the Delta State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Julius Egbedi, the Director of Asaba Airport, Mr Austin Ayemidejor.

Ayemidejor praised the State PDP boss for the capital and human development he has brought to Sapele.

The thank you meeting was attended by all party faithful in the LGA including the Sapele Local Government Chairman, Hon Eugene Inoaghan and a host of others.
