JUST IN: Sen Omo-Agege Moves Senate To Restore Abraka State Constituency

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, today took a major legislative step towards the restoration of suppressed State Constituencies in Urhobo, Delta Central Senatorial District.

Following a detailed motion during today’s plenary, the DSP successfully moved the Senate to adopt a unanimous resolution approving the immediate restoration of Abraka State Constituency as a separate and distinct State Constituency which shall henceforth have its own elected member in the Delta State House of Assembly.

While moving the motion, Senator Omo-Agege presented compelling facts supported with positive judicial pronouncements confirming that Abraka State Constituency was separate and distinct until it was arbitrarily, illegally and unjustifiably suppressed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

According to aides of the DSP, their principal has been discussing with Delta APC Chairman (Caretaker), Prophet Jones Erue, on also restoring allegedly suppressed constituencies in Isoko.

This, they said “is to ensure that all Deltans are properly represented in their House of Assembly.”

Adding: “We are still studying the viability of the Isoko situation. The Obarisi is determined to ensure that no part of Delta is underrepresented.”

Continuing, they hailed the Obarisi of Urhoboland for yet another courageous leadership statement to advance the people’s best, strategic interests.

Furthermore, they thanked him for his absolute commitment to his solemn duties as the Senator representing the Urhobo Nation, saying that “it can only get better through God Almighty who gives grace, strength and excellence.”
