Egbema Kingdom: Henry Binidodougha Is Not From Any Of The Ruling Houses, Cannot Be King– Council Of Chiefs

The Traditional Council of Chiefs in Egbema Kingdom have warned indigenes and members of the public not to have any dealing with Mr. Henry Binidodougha who they said “falsely parades himself as HRH, the Ojuaga I of Egbema Clan.”

This notice was jointly issued by all the nine traditional villages of Egbema Kingdom through their representatives at Ofunama town on the 8th of January, 2021 for: Egbema Traditional Council of Chiefs.

According to the statement, “The said Henry Binidodougha was never installed/crowned as a traditional ruler or Ojuaga I of Egbema Clan by the Traditional Council of Chiefs and/or the people of Egbema kingdom.”

The statement noted that “Egbema kingdom is an ancient kingdom which bestrides the present day Edo and Delta States of Nigeria with nine (9) traditional villages namely, (1) Abadegbene/Bolou-Jamagie; (2) Abere; (3) Ajakoro-ama; (4) Gbeoba/Gbolukanga; (5) Ofunama ; (6) Ogbinbiri; (7) Ogbudugbudu; (8) Opuama/Polobubor and; (9) Tu-Jamagie (in alphabetical order).”

Egbema kingdom they said “is under the traditional headship of a single traditional stool referred to as the stool of the Agadagba of Egbema Kingdom.

“The title of Ojuaga I, is alien and repugnant to the customs and traditions of the ancient Kingdom of Egbema. For the records, Mr. Henry Binidodougha will never be enthroned as a traditional ruler of Egbema Kingdom because he is not from any of the ruling houses in Egbema Kingdom as gazetted in 1979.”

Members of the general public particularly governmental agencies and neighboring kingdoms are therefore urged to refrain from having any dealings with the said Mr. Henry Binidodougha and his followers in relation to the ancient Traditional Stool.

Furthermore, they called on all sons and daughters of Egbema kingdom at home and in diaspora “to unite and be on guard against these direct attacks orchestrated by Mr. Henry Binidodougha against the territorial integrity and traditional stool of Egbema kingdom.”

“The Traditional Council of Chiefs will continue to respond to any form of threat against the territorial integrity and the ancient Traditional Stool of Egbema kingdom,” the statement added.
