Popular Business Tycoon In The Insurance Sector, Chief Nelson Utieyione Dies At 85

An astute and very popular business tycoon in the insurance sector, Chief Nelson Amalemi Utieyione, the Oguoyibo of Warri Kingdom alias Orurunagbakiridi is dead.
Warri Voice reports that he died at about 2 am on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, after a brief illness at the age of 85.
He was an astute Insurance Broker.
He was the Founder/CEO of one of the first reputable insurance companies in the then Midwestern region, Nelson Uti Insurance Company located in Warri and was a very reliable confidant to His Majesty, Atuwatse 11, the Olu of Warri, CFR, who conferred on him the Chieftaincy title of “Oguoyibo” in 1988.
He was also installed President of the Rotary Club of Warri in 1988 where he was a major donor to the Rotary International commitment to the eradication of the killer polio disease in Nigeria.
In 1991, Chief Nelson A. Utieyione was conferred with the Justice of Peace (JP) award and for his contribution to the Education sector and Scholarship during the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel E. Uduaghan.

At a National convention of the Itsekiri apex Socio-Cultural Organization Warri Progressive Society a.k.a OTONLOYE held at the Appollo Presidential Hotel, Sapele, Delta state, Chief Nelson A. Utieyione instituted a 100 million Naira Scholarship Foundation known as “Utieyione Educational Endowment Foundation” for deserving indigent students to be selected by various Itsekiri societies, clubs, and Communities annually for screening and award by a Board of Trustees.
At the time of filing this report, Oasis Magazine (OM) learnt that the deceased will be buried next week, 8days after his death, a burial we were told will be done via Zoom.
