The Acting President, Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), a rights advocacy group, Comarade Kehinde Taiga, has cautioned Dr. Obagie Obayunwa to stop parading himself as the President of the body, adding that he has no moral right to even criticize President Muhammadu since he was removed from office because of his corrupt and illegal activities.

This statement follows Obayunwa’s criticism of Buhari while speaking on national issues on behalf of CDHR despite his suspension.

Taiga in a statement made available to Oasis Magazine (OM), titled: “What a Manner of a Suspended President Of CDHR’ said Obayunwa must stop dragging the name of the noble group to any further disrepute after his inglorious tenure before he was suspended.

The statement reads in part: “Dr Osagie Obayuwana, I beg of you, stop adding insult upon the injury and damage you have caused the organization. You have no legitimate power to pronounce sanction on any members of the organization not to talk of criticizing the government.

“You have been suspended by your unit and State Branch which was affirmed by the National Executive Committee. Sir, on what platform are you parading yourself as the National President?

“What you are doing is totally illegal. You were suspended from your State Branch for conducting an illegal election in Edo State Branch, hand picking none members of the organization to take charge of the branch and imposing an elective position for the office of the Publicity Secretary, against the 3 elective position, which implies that you are not conversant with the norms of CDHR and you claimed to be one of the founding fathers; there is no ignorance in law.

“NEC affirmed your suspension and alleged you of misappropriation of 5 million naira. The progressive members of CDHR are totally against the mischievous policy of the government, but you have no moral justification to judge and represent us.

“Buhari is one million times better than you. You find it so difficult to manage a micro Organization like CDHR, yet you have the boldness to judge the President of the largest black race.

“Please Sir, stop making mockery of CDHR, because the information of your suspension has been made public. Your write up is an insult to the sensibilities of the progressive members of the Organization. Your suspension is an open secret. By virtue of the letter of our Constitution, the moment a member has no unit or State Branch, you have no business in the affairs of the organization.”

He urged him to respect the law of the organisation and stop laying a bad precedent for future leaders of CDHR.
He warned those that he picked as National Executive Committee to replace the elected officers to stp parading themselves as executive members, saying that “their appointment is illegal and unrecognized.”

“Kindly save us of the intermittent embarrassment you and your fellow cabals bestowed on us by resigning honorably. Enough of all this mess and stop forcing yourself on 15 branches of the organization.”

Furthermore, he called on the EFCC, ICPC and IGP to investigate the suspended President of CDHR for embezzlement of CDHR money and cover-up of the former President, Barr Malachy Ugwummadu, who he said refused to give himself to an External Auditor to audit him after four years in office.
