Delta Police Arrest Suspected Cocaine Peddlers, Notorious Phone Snatcher, Others In Warri

In compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, DPOs have continued to remain on their toes, to see that crimes and criminality is reduced to the lowest level in the state, which according to the CP is the mandate given to him by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.

The police in Warri seem to be determined to up their game with the arrests of suspected cocaine peddlers, two phone snatchers and a cultist recently.

According to a statement on Friday signed by DSP Edafe Bright, Ag. Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, a Patrol team from ‘A’ Division Warri, recently raided black spots at Macaver street, adding that in the course of the raid, three suspects were arrested.

The police gave their names as Monday Ofomukoro, Prince Akpojaro and Godday Doutimiareye who were arrested with about 50 wraps and two other unwrapped stones of illicit drugs suspected to be cocaine.

The statement said “one of the suspects, Monday Ofomukoro confessed to have been dealing on the sale of such substance for some years now.”

While the said case is under investigation, the police said that a patrol team from ‘A’ Division Warri also raided a black spot at Panapina by NPA in Warri, on the same day, adding that during the raid, a suspected cultist, one Ebi Anda was arrested with some quantity of weed suspected to be Indian hemp in about three medium size nylon bag compartments, and about fifty pieces of razler wrap, one battle axe and two daggers.

Anda is currently been investigated and the police disclosed that he will be charged to court as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, men of ‘A’ Division, Warri, working on intelligence gathering, have arrested one Gbobobo Obaro who was caught in the act while snatching phones of two supposed passengers around Morogun axis.

The patrol team are said to have given him a hot chase that led to his arrest at Effurun roundabout.

Two android phones were recovered from him on interrogation.

His confession, we learnt led to the arrest of the receiver one Sani Amadu of Igbudu market.

Both suspects are currently been investigated.

Meanwhile, the command has said that they are doing everything possible to demobilize operational network of these cartels.
