The APC Councillorship candidate for DSIEC ward 20 in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Oghenevwagba Irorobeje, has filed a suit seeking an order of court to disqualify Hon. Tony Sowho of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the grounds that he did not only register twice in unit 007 of Ward 11 but also forged his educational certificates and documents.

In an originating summons filed by the APC candidate, he prays the higher court of justice, Isiokolo to hold that the PDP councillorship candidate submitted falsified documents with respect to his educational qualification wherein he stated that he obtained a B.Sc in public administration from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

Suspicion arose when it was discovered that the PDP councillorship candidate who claimed to have graduated over 5 years ago had no statement of result or certificate from the university.

Irorobeje said that “all that the PDP councillorship candidate submitted as evidence of his degree is a document titled; “To Whom It May Concerned.”

“It was also discovered that the PDP councillorship candidate has no WAEC certificate after many years of his acclaimed statement of result.”

Further more, the APC candidate contends that the PDP councillorship candidate is a civil servant who is under the employ of the National Civil Defence Corp who has not resigned till date.

The suit is seeking the disqualification of the PDP councillorship candidate on the ground that he gave false information to DSIEC and as such is liable to be disqualified.

APC believes that once the court holds in the affirmative, then the APC candidate will automatically be declared as the councillor elect in accordance with the DSIEC law.

At the time of filing this report, the bailiff is making frantic efforts to effect service of the court process on Mr. Sowho who APC said is nowhere to be found.

Mr. Vwegba Irorobeje is confident and has assured the people of Isiokolo ward 20 of justice.

He stated that there is hope that the court will be fair in determining the issues submitted.

Meanwhile, moves to speak with Sowho were unfruitful.
