NFF President, Pinnick Elected Into FIFA Executive Council

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has been elected into the Executive Council of Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), Niger Delta Today reports.

Pinnick defeated his major challenger and Malawian FA president, Walter Nyamilandu, to emerged winner.

With the development, the NFF President, will be among the six African leaders that will represent the continent in the FIFA Executive Council.

According to reports, Pinnick, a former commissioner for sports in Delta State under the administration of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, won with a landslide victory in the contest.

The Warri-born Nigerian football administrator defeated Nyamilandu by 43 votes to eight votes in the election.

The election was held during the General Assembly of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) in Rabat on Friday.

Pinnick becomes the third Nigerian elected into the prestigious council after Oyo Orok Oyo (1980-1988) and Amos Adamu (2006-2010).
