Repentance, Forgiveness, A Vital Requirement For Eternal Life– Pastor David O. Amanoritsewo

The Pastor, Acceptable Christian Church, 15 Skinn Road, Daudu, Warri in Warri South Local Government Delta State, Pastor David O. Amanoritsewo, has said that forgiveness and repentance are two inseparable but essentially related requirements in the race for salvation.

Pastor Amanoritsewo stated this on Sunday, the 9th day of May, 2021 at a special church service held in the church premises .

The cleric said as a child of God, one must learn to repent and ask for forgiveness from God or one’s fellow man whom he or she wronged, as well as forgive anyone who offended him but asks him or her for forgivess as God forgives any sinner who thoroughly repents of his sin, adding that it is the act of forgiveness of God that has kept man alive till date.

He said if God were to deal with man according to his sinful nature, no man would have been alive today.

The cleric said, many people who claim to be Christians are not in the real sense, as they hardly repent of their sins or forgive whenever they are offended.

He said; “Many people including Christians hardly repent even though they know they have sinned; neither do they forgive and forget when they are offended.”

The preacher charged those who are yet to know the truth but still live in sin to turn a new leaf by worshiping God in truth and riighteousness in order to have eternal salvation.

He said: “Engaging in sinful acts is bad, those who are yet to repent should do so by worshipping God in truth and riighteousness for them to have eternal life.”

Earlier in his sermon, titled: “Repentance and Forgiveness”, Brother Edwin Koloh said it is unchristian to live a life of waywardness just as he said Christians should learn to forgive and repent.

He said many Christians who offend thier neighbor hardly show remorse even when they know they have done wrongly.

Adding, as a Christian, nobody is above mistake, saying that what is important is to acknowledge one’s wrong and apologize for such wrongs done.

He said: “As a christian, who knows God, you can always repent of any sin, forgive and forget.”

Brother Edwin therefore charged Christians to be steadfast in this direction and key into the word of God to have everlasting life by the grace of God.

The church used the opportunity to celebrate with the family of Sister Joy Oforji for her successful return to Nigeria from the United Kingdom where she went to see her daughter who successfully gave birth to a child.

Highlight of the thanksgiving was praises through songs and dancing to the glory of God for what God has done for Joy Oforji’s family and by extension the entire church.
