Delta 2023: I Will Bring About Steady Power Supply, Create Ministry For The Physically Challenged, Says Akpo Ofomana

A governorship aspirant in Delta State for the 2023 polls, Evangelist Austin Akpo Ofomana, has said that apart from his free education arrangement for students from primary to university level, Deltans stand a chance of enjoying stable power supply if he is given a chance.

Akpo Ofomona said this during a media chat with journalists recently in Delta State.

According to him, within his first 100 days in office, power blackout would have become a thing of the past and the slogan of ‘Up NEPA’ which many are conversant with will come to an end.

Asked how he will accomplish this, he said that he will set up a very powerful committee that will be mandated to actualize this speedily if he is voted into office.

His words: “I will gather engineers and experts from Nigeria and even outside of the country; from countries in Africa that enjoy stable electricity and other experts from outside Africa to make this happen. Every part of the state will enjoy 24-hour stable electricity supply like it happens in developed countries under my tenure.”

He added that this dream looks like an impossible task, but said that it is achievable and his administration can make that happen.

“Not even a five minutes blackout will occur if I emerge as governor,” he averred.

Speaking further, he hinted on the need to create a Ministry for the Physically Challenged.

“I will not only create a Ministry for the Physically Challenged, but I will appoint a commissioner from amongst this group of persons that are neglected by the government to run that ministry. This ministry will be ladened with the responsibility of removing beggars from the street.

He continued: “I wouldn’t mind placing a cripple that is sound to man that place. We will go into social welfare like allowances for the physically challenged. They just need to sit in their homes and get taken care of by the government and not need to go on the streets begging.”
