Says Structure Of The Movement At All Levels Must Be Gender Sensitive

The Convener and National Coordinator of Alliance Against Vote Buying And Bad Leadership In Nigeria”, Amb. Idawene Oke JP, has restated his commitment to the success of the New Nigeria Project through the alliance of Nigerian citizens against vote buying and bad leadership in the country.

Speaking early hours of Tuesday, 26th October, Amb. Idawene stated that the National secretariat of Alliance Against Vote Buying And Bad Leadership In Nigeria was very busy in its bid to lay a solid and enduring foundation for the movement.

Adding: “When this is done, we shall immediately screen the CV’s of those who applied to serve as state coordinators and announce their appointments according to their individual capacities to drive the national movement in their various states.”

Commending all volunteers of the group for their high interest in the new Nigeria project, Amb. Idawene, noted that he was highly encouraged with the solidarity so far coming from eminent Nigerians who were already in search of the novel idea, “Alliance Against Vote Buying And Bad Leadership In Nigeria”.

Amb. IDAWENE said that the body is considering gender sensitivity in appointing leaders of the movement nationwide, just as he called on more Nigerians, especially women to join the struggle and apply for key positions at the national level.

Meanwhile, in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Comr Akende Edmond Aondona, the National Coordinator on behalf of the National secretariat also said that all Nigerian women who were discouraged in participating in the Nigeria democratic processes due to the marginalization of women in the business of governance in Nigeria should join the movement now, saying that Alliance Against Vote Buying And Bad Leadership In Nigeria is already advocating for gender equality in Nigeria ahead of the emergence of the new Nigeria.

Describing women as the driving force of any alliance in a democracy, the National Coordinator, Amb. Idawene emphasized that without women participation in the alliance of Nigerian citizens against vote buying and bad leadership, the emergence of the new Nigeria can only be expensively imagined.

He however lamented that the extreme optimum performance of the structures of Alliance Against Vote Buying And Bad Leadership In Nigeria from top to bottom is one sure path to a new Nigeria with Nigerian men and women on board.

Amb. IDAWENE also called on those already appointed as National executive members to take their responsibilities serious as ambassadors of the new Nigeria.
