Fire Outbreak Destroys Equipment, Razes Offices In Delta Education Ministry

A mid night electrical fire outbreak suspected to be unconnected with thunder strike has razed some offices and equipment of the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education at the Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat, Asaba.
Speaking to newsmen, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Ede Oghoro disclosed that the state government received an information that the fire started at about 11:pm on Monday, October 25.

Oghoro, who expressed shock over the fire outbreak, said that the officials of the state fire service were on ground to avert more damage to other parts of the building as well as the entire secretariat building.
He said that the state Ministry of Housing would have been notified of the sad development in order for the state government to be able to ascertain the cost value of the destroyed equipment and structure.
