Popular Kano Singer, Magajiya Dambata Dies At 86

Popular Kano singer, Magajiya Dambata is dead.

Daily Post reports that she died at the age of 86 on Friday evening after a brief illness at her home in Dambatta, Kano State.

Dambatta rose to stardom in the 1970s to 1980s.

Late Dambatta’s songs highlighted the importance of education, good moral values, social vices and child upbringing.

Sometimes in 2019, the renowned singer, who has since gone blind was seen begging for alms to survive at Makoda village in Kano where she lived.

Thereafter, a public fund was set up for her upkeep and renovation of her house after she was found struggling to maintain a good life in Kano.
