Residents Lament Ban On ‘Okada’ Operation In Kaduna
As the complete ban on ‘achaba’ operation enters the third day in Kaduna state, residents of the state have started grumbling as a result of massive suffering and other difficulties to move around.
The ban directive was given directly by the Governor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufa’i.
Security agencies especially, Police, KADVIS and Vigilante Operators have since been deployed by the State Government to impound machines whose owners have flouted these directives and to arrest and prosecute the offenders.
Neptune Prime can report that thousands of machines have since been impounded by the security agencies, and even after the three months announced by the Governor lapsed, these machines will be auctioned by the State Government, including identifying the owners for prosecution.
Similarly, the announcement by the State Government that the ban on okada and the partial disruption of communications services by the government for security agencies to launch attacks on suspected areas that bandits are hiding is yet to commence, only for routine patrol by the Air force.

In other states where the Military has commenced operations like in Zamfara and Borno, people receive daily achievements through briefings.
But in Kaduna, the commissioner for internal affairs and security, Samuel Aruwan, is yet to brief the residents of the state on the successes recorded by the security agencies.
Recently, the government is also thinking of placing a ban on Napep operators. They are expected to operate from 6 am to 7 pm, and those plying the town in private cars, or transporting passengers or taxi operators are to paint their cars in a particular colour, but citizens alleged the government keeps introducing all these to generate revenue.
