“NAFDAC cannot be everywhere and Customs cannot be everywhere. We know the importance NAFDAC plays in ensuring safety of food and drugs.
“These illicit products that may be harmful include 393,900 Pregabalin Capsules, 80 bottles of codeine and other seized drugs handed to NAFDAC for further action,” he said.
Speaking further, he said that it is their expectation that whatever measures NAFDAC takes on the handed over drugs, they should be updated so that if they are destroying them, Customs can be there to monitor.
“I handover this product to you, along with a suspect so that it can further assist you with investigations,” he added.
Representative of NAFDAC Director General, Chief Regulatory Officer, Abubakar Nasir in his remarks, thanked FOU Kaduna for continued and sustained support.
He thanked the comptroller for being helpful to NAFDAC since assuming duties.
