Omu Of Okpanam To Mark 20th Coronation Anniversary Wednesday

Her Royal Majesty, Obi Martha Dunkwu, Omu of Okpanam, on Wednesday, 26th January, 2022, will clock 20 years on the throne.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary, a statement signed by Patrick Ochei, Media Consultant to Omu Dunkwu, urged Okpanam community, Anioma Nation, Deltans and Nigerians to attend a ceremony on Wednesday at the Open Field in her Palace at Okanam, Oshimili North LGA of Delta State.
According to the statement, “her emergence as Omu of Okpanam and by extension, the Omu Anioma has brought visibility and recognition into the ancient Omu institution.”

Adding: “Today, the world today, have come to know about the Omu institution, its origin and myths surrounding it, the functions of Omu and the challenges being faced in relation to women leadership.”
Continuing, the statement said Omu Dunkwu has helped in bringing renaissance into the culture of the Anioma people, by her publicity on the activities and roles of the Omu institution
The statement added that traditional rulers, Omus, friends, well wishers and her admirers have been invited to grace the occasion and make the event colourful.
During the ceremony, there will be the “exhibition of Akwa Ocha, beads, and traditional paraphernalia” saying that guests present at the occasion will be entertained by different cultural groups from Anioma.
