Ugberikoko Community Profess Against Consumption Of Hard Drugs

Residents of Ugberikiko Community in Uvwie Local Government Area if Delta State have staged a peaceful protest against the use of hard drugs in the area.
Residents in their numbers protested to the palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom and the office of the Chairman of the Local Government Council in Effurun.
A spokesman of the protesters, Engineer Paul Ogaga, who spoke at the Uvwie Local Government Council Secretariat, complained that some youths in the community had abandoned education and had taken to the consumption of hard drugs.

He accused the said youths of constituting menace to the community, adding that the drugged youths had been threatening law abiding residents in the area.
Ogaga disclosed that the new community executive committee in conjunction with chiefs and elders decided that there should be a protest against the consumption of hard drugs in the area.
In his response, the Chairman of the council, Hon. Ramson Tega Onoyake, commended the residents for their peaceful protest and warned that anybody caught consuming hard drugs in the local government area would be prosecuted according to the law.
