Ajede Celebrates One Year In Office, As He Fulfils Promise To Empower Hundreds Of Ukwuani People

…Reiterates His Administration’s Resolve To Continue To Serve Ukwuani People
The Executive Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Hon) C.S Possible Ajede has celebrated his one year in office with unparalleled milestone achievements and the empowerment of over 100 Ukwuani persons in the maiden edition of his administration’s sustainable empowerment programme.
He appreciated the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for his SMART Leadership style and result-oriented approach to governance which according to him has given him the platform to leverage on to better serve his people.
Barr Ajede during his speech also thanked the Ukwuani people for the mandate which they entrusted to him when they voted him in as the Executive Chairman of the council area, just as he acknowledged the support and cooperation which his administration has garnered from every segment of the LGA in the last one year even as he solicited for more so as to collectively build a better and an enviable Ukwuani LGA.
Speaking further, Barr Ajede enumerated some of his administration’s achievements in the last one year to include the reconstruction and modernization of Obi-Obeti Market Obeti to a mini Ultra-Modern Market; the reconstruction of two blocks of 4 classrooms and 2 offices and 4 classrooms respectively at Ethiope Primary School, Umutu; the construction of 5 mini bridges at Ezhionum farm road and the distribution of palliatives to farmers to cushion the effects of hunger while Fulani herders were terrorizing the bushes across the LGA and a host of other uncommon feats.
Also, he assured the people of his administration’s resolve to continue to serve them.

He noted that in the last one year that they have touched every single area of the Step Up Ukwuani Agenda which has embedded in it – Sustainable Peace and Security Initiative, Environmental Sanitation, Improved Primary Healthcare Service, Infrastructural Development, Education Development, Agricultural Development, Youth & Sports Development and Sustainable Empowerment Programmes.
Meanwhile, over 100 beneficiaries received empowerment packages and starter packs which according to the council chairman will help those who have learnt skills but could not set up in their respective business line to start up and also, to support those with insufficient funds to expand in their trade..
The items distributed to the beneficiaries are; 40 sets of sewing machines, 30 generators, 20 sets of grinding machines, 10 complete sets of hair saloon equipment, 10 complete sets of makeover equipment, 5 complete sets of barbing saloon equipment and 6 sets of pounding machines.
According to Barr Ajede, the empowerment was the first phase as he plans to empower different categories of farmers, petty traders, car wash operators, laundry homes operators, make-shift restaurant operators and others.
In their separate remarks, the overjoyed beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Barr Ajede for making their otherwise impossible dream of setting up their business a reality even as they prayed God to bless him.
During the ceremony, there were lots of positive remarks by both guests, beneficiaries and spectators that witnessed the celebration of Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede’s one year in office.
Highlights of the celebration was when the Executive Chairman led the entire Ukwuani Local Government executives, the legislators and council staff thanked God for His faithfulness in the last one year.
Also, he performed the Ground Breaking ceremony of the Ultra-Modern Abbattoir and Meat Market while assuring that grassing will soon commence at the Obiaruku City Stadium.
