DELSU Now Holds 1st Position Amongst Universities In South South Geopolitical Zone —VC

Vice Chancellor, Delta State University (DELSU), Professor Andy Egwuyenga, has said that his administration will “continue to take giant strides to place DELSU in the world map as far as university ranking and infrastructural developments are concerned.”

Professor Egwuyenga said this over the weekend during the matriculation ceremony of new intakes for the 2021/2022 Academic Session.

According to him, the university is now 17th in Nigeria, 4th best state owned university and the best amongst universities in the South South geopolitical zone of the country.

Continuing, he said that of the 78 Programmes in the tertiary institution, as at 2021, a total of 74 programmes have full accreditation and three with interim accreditation status.

Meanwhile, he said that in 2022, 5 undergraduate programmes had result verification carried out on them.

“It is worthy of note that Medicine and Surgery got full accreditation in 2022 accreditation excersise,” he added.

Speaking on other of his achievements while in office, he disclosed that the e-Learning Management System is now an integral part of teaching and learning, saying it avails students the opportunity to review classes and lecture notes long after teaching has been concluded.

“Currently, the University administration has made available WI-FI services known as DELSU CONNECT for all staff and students to access within the radius of the university and the device is functioning effectively.” he added.
